Thoughts and Experience

Welcome to my cozy little corner of the Internet, where I may or may not share my thoughts on various topics with anyone interested.

If you're just here for the recipe, very cool.  Here you go!

Hi.

I'm Bryan.

I'm kind of a Thinker of Thoughts. A Laugher of Laughs. A Teller of Stories.  I'm a bit counter-cultural, yes, but with an almost childlike passion for customer experience in all its forms, and an absolute allergy to "that's the way it's always been done".

After all these years, I kinda feel like I'm getting the hang of it, and so I might start sharing my musings with others...

engagement [en-geyj'-muh-nt] : the act of engaging; the state of being engaged... People today aren't buying, they're looking to belong - to something that reflects what they feel and what they believe.  They don't necessarily believe what you say, or what you know. How do you make them feel?  That's engagement. Because nobody cares how much you know, until they know how much you care.

Is your team engaged and engaging, prepared and motivated to make people feel each and every day?

Oh, right.  More me.

Did I mention I'm also a fluently bilingual (English / French) Learning & Development professional, certified facilitator, trainer, consultant and coach, with over 30 years of cross-industry experience?  My perception-based approach and authentic, upbeat delivery style always result in positive feedback from participants.

why a sandwich, bryan?

Column

Because. Delicious. Bacon. Lettuce. Tomato. Egg.

The sandwich is a metaphor.  It's also a cool play on my initials.  Right?

Picasso may have said: "Learn the rules like a Boss, so you can break them like an artist."  I don't know. But if he did, he was right.  The best dishes start with a recipe, a process to follow. Only once learned well can we become creative.

And that's the metaphor. Establish processes. Implement them, teach them to your people. Then, empower them to both improvise and improve, without ever forgetting the fundamentals.
Want to know more?  Let's talk...or just check out the recipe, it's a good sandwich.  Enjoy!
